Answers to the questions we get asked most about panel paint repair.
We repair deep scratches, paint chips, bumper scuffs, peeling or faded clear coat, localised paint defects and poor previous paint repairs. We can also repaint complete vehicle panels when a localised repair is not suitable.
Panel paint repair starts from approximately $499 including GST. The final price depends on the panel size, paint type, existing damage, preparation required and whether colour blending is needed.
Yes. Please send us a close-up photo of the damage, a photo showing the complete panel, the vehicle's make, model and year, and the paint code if available. Photos taken in natural light or open shade work best. We can provide an initial estimate from photographs, and the final price is confirmed after inspecting the vehicle.
Yes. We use the vehicle's paint code and assess the existing colour and condition of the surrounding panels. Vehicle paint can change slightly over time because of sun exposure, age and previous repairs, so colour adjustment or blending may sometimes be required.
Yes. We can work with solid, metallic and pearl finishes. Metallic, pearl and three-stage colours may cost more because they require additional materials, controlled application and more detailed colour matching.
Not always. Small scratches, chips and bumper scuffs may qualify for a localised repair. However, larger damage, clear coat failure or damage close to the edge of a panel may require the complete panel to be prepared and repainted.
Polishing may temporarily improve light oxidation or dull paint, but it cannot permanently repair clear coat that is peeling or separating. The failed clear coat normally needs to be sanded, properly prepared and refinished.
A straightforward single-panel repair usually takes approximately one to three business days. Repairs involving several panels, extensive preparation, colour blending or additional curing time may take longer.
Some initial inspections and quotations may be completed at our Belmont location. Depending on the complexity and requirements of the repair, the paintwork may be carried out at a specialised workshop in Bayswater. We will confirm the appropriate location before your booking.
